Punjab CNF Seizes 5.1 Tons of Drugs, Arrests 33 in Massive Crackdown

The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has made major progress in its ongoing province-wide anti-drug campaign, carrying out 34 intelligence-based operations over the past week and arresting 33 alleged drug traffickers.
According to the Director General of Punjab CNF, the operations resulted in the seizure of approximately 5.1 tons of narcotics, with an estimated street value of Rs. 36 million. Authorities also recovered weapons from several suspects during the raids.
The confiscated drugs included 5 tons of poppy straw, 75 kilograms of hashish, 49 kilograms of opium, 0.5 kilograms of crystal meth (“ice”), 2 kilograms of cannabis, and 200 grams of heroin. In addition, law enforcement recovered 10 pistols and one sub-machine gun.

The operations were conducted across multiple districts, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, and Gujrat.
A CNF spokesperson noted that since its establishment in August 2025, the force has seized a total of 21.1 tons of narcotics valued at approximately Rs. 2.2 billion, highlighting its consistent and effective enforcement efforts.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force continues to intensify its crackdown, aiming to eradicate drug trafficking, protect communities, and safeguard the youth from the growing threat of narcotics.
