Federal Ombudsman Naveed Kamran Baloch has directed the Poly Clinic hospital administration to provide complete details of medicine procurement and distribution, along with the duty roster of doctors, to ensure no patient leaves the facility without medication.
The directives came following a report submitted by an inspection team led by Senior Advisor Rana Seerat, which conducted a surprise visit to the hospital. The team heard multiple complaints from patients, including non-availability of medicines, delays of 7–8 months for lab tests and operations, poor cleanliness, bribery, and reduced quantities of prescribed medicines.
The Ombudsman has ordered the activation of a biometric system to ensure timely attendance of doctors and staff, preparation and implementation of SOPs for cleanliness (especially in the kitchen), and the establishment of a help desk to guide patients to relevant departments. He also directed that the under-construction Poly Clinic-2 in G-11 be completed on time and that all vacant posts for doctors, nurses, and paramedics be filled according to law.
