Chairman Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council Raja Sikander Khan has expressed his gratitude to Muslim Hands Mirpur and HUBCO Laraib Energy (Pvt.) Ltd. for completing a new water filtration plant at Government Middle School Banni, Khari Sharif, District Mirpur, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
The project was initiated following a request made by Raja Sikander Khan during his visit to the Muslim Hands Regional Office in Mirpur last year. He was accompanied by President Global Pak Kashmir Supreme Council AJK Chapter Syed Shabbir Ahmed.
During the visit, Raja Sikander Khan requested the installation of a water filtration plant at Government Middle School Banni to provide students and residents of the surrounding areas with safe and clean drinking water.
Executive Manager Muslim Hands Mohammad Suleman and Public Relations Manager Raja Qamar Atta had assured the delegation that the request would be considered and the project would be completed at the earliest opportunity.
The commitment has now been fulfilled with the successful completion of the filtration plant, which provides free access to safe drinking water for students and residents of Banni and surrounding communities.
The facility was inaugurated by Major (Retd.) Sohail Aslam Gill, Manager Administration & CSR, Laraib Energy, in the presence of teachers, students and members of the local community.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Sikander Khan appreciated Muslim Hands Mirpur, particularly Mohammad Suleman and Raja Qamar Atta, along with HUBCO Laraib Energy (Pvt.) Ltd., for their cooperation and support in making the initiative possible.
The project represents a collaborative effort between community representatives, charitable organisations and the corporate sector to improve access to clean drinking water and contribute to better health and living conditions in local communities.
Raja Sikander Khan said such initiatives could play an important role in building healthier communities and supporting a better future for the people of AJK.
