SIALKOT, PUNJAB , Ali Imran Chattha

The Pakistan Army conducted a swift and effective rescue operation in the Daska tehsil of Sialkot district, saving dozens of members of the local Sikh community from devastating floods. The operation, which has been met with widespread gratitude, also ensured the safety of a sacred religious text. The rescue was launched after intense flooding, which local residents attribute to India's unexpected release of water from across the border, an act described as "water aggression." The Pakistan Army's timely intervention ensured that all trapped citizens were moved to secure locations.

Key Details of the Operation: · Successful Evacuation: According to an official statement, 96 members of the Sikh community have been safely rescued and relocated. · Protection of Sacred Artifacts: In a significant gesture, the Army airlifted the holy scripture of Baba Guru Nanak Sahib via helicopter to ensure its absolute safety and protection from the floodwaters.

Expressions of Gratitude from the Community: Local Sikh residents expressed their profound appreciation for the Army's unwavering support. "We are deeply grateful. Whenever we have faced difficulties, the Pakistan Army has stood by us," said one rescued citizen. "I especially thank Field Marshal Asim Munir for his swift rescue and relief efforts." Another community member highlighted the broader national context, stating, "India released floodwater under the cover of night, but our spirits remain high. Pakistan has always given a befitting response, even in times of war." He added, "I sincerely thank the Government of Pakistan, the Government of Punjab, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. Because of the Army's immediate operation, there was no loss of life. I salute their courage." The praise extended beyond Punjab. Baba G Gurpal Singh, Minority Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from JUI (F), also commended the efforts: "I deeply thank COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir and the Pakistan Army for their courageous rescue efforts. The Army has once again proven its commitment to protecting lives, communities, and sacred sites." This operation has further strengthened the bond between the Pakistan Army and the Sikh community, reaffirming a trusted partnership during times of crisis.
