Pakistan Marks “Marka-e-Haq” Victory with Grand National Ceremony at Pakistan Monument

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the services chiefs attended the grand “Marka-e-Haq” victory commemoration ceremony held at the Pakistan Monument on Sunday, paying tribute to the courage, sacrifices and unwavering spirit of Pakistan’s defenders.
The ceremony was attended by senior civil and military leadership, federal ministers, parliamentarians, diplomats, veterans and families of martyrs. The national monument and surrounding areas were illuminated with green lights and decorated with national flags to mark the occasion.
Special prayers were offered for the country’s peace, stability and prosperity, while tributes were paid to the martyrs and veterans who sacrificed their lives in defence of the homeland. Contingents of the armed forces presented salute to the national heroes during the ceremony.Addressing the gathering, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the nation would always remember the bravery, dedication and sacrifices rendered by the armed forces for the protection of Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity. He said the spirit of “Marka-e-Haq” reflected national unity, resilience and the collective determination of the Pakistani people.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the armed forces’ resolve to defend the country against all internal and external threats. He paid tribute to the martyrs and said their sacrifices would continue to inspire future generations.
The ceremony also featured patriotic performances, national songs, a laser light show and aerial displays, creating an atmosphere of national pride and solidarity.
Meanwhile, commemorative events were also organised across different parts of the country to honour the sacrifices of the armed forces and martyrs, with citizens expressing solidarity with Pakistan’s defenders and renewing their commitment to the country’s security and progress.
