A prestigious ceremony was organized by The Padel Collective in collaboration with Prescott Development to honour Team Pakistan ahead of its departure for the Asia Pacific Padel Cup (APPC), to be held in Manila, Philippines. Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Faisal Ayub Khokhar and Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives Ali Dar attended the event as chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister Faisal Ayub Khokhar congratulated the national players on earning the honour of representing Pakistan at the Asia Pacific Padel Cup and extended his best wishes for their success.
"You are not just a team; you are ambassadors of Pakistan. The prayers of the entire nation are with you. We are confident that through your dedication, passion, and outstanding performance, you will raise the national flag high and bring glory to Pakistan," he said.
The Provincial Minister stated that under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab Government is actively promoting emerging sports alongside traditional games to provide young athletes with world-class facilities and equal opportunities to excel at the international level.
He also announced that the Sports Board Punjab, in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence Department, will organize a major Padel Tournament after Muharram. He further revealed that a new padel court in Sialkot will soon be inaugurated, while 14 additional state-of-the-art padel courts are being constructed across Punjab to provide modern training and playing facilities for young athletes.
Faisal Ayub Khokhar appreciated the efforts of The Padel Collective and Prescott Development, acknowledging the vital role of the private sector in promoting sports. He said such initiatives would encourage youth participation in healthy activities and significantly contribute to the growth of padel in Pakistan.
Addressing the ceremony, Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab on Artificial Intelligence and Special Initiatives Ali Dar said that under the AI Vision 2029, the Punjab Government is integrating modern technology into various sectors, including sports. He emphasized that the use of artificial intelligence in sports would enhance athlete development through advanced training methods, better planning, and improved performance, enabling Pakistani players to achieve greater success on the international stage.
Team Pakistan for the Asia Pacific Padel Cup comprises Aamil Tabani (Captain), Huzaifa Rehman, Abdullah Adnan, Muhammad Salar, Farhan Mustafa, Asifa Shehbaz, Sheeza Sajid, Mahak Khokhar, Aqsa Khalid, Zain-ul-Abideen Sohail, Talha Nadeem, Momina Imran, Alisha Elahi, Mir Saqib, Ibrahim Shiraz, Mah Noor Ghalib, and Samar Zaman while Mamoon Qureshi will accompany the team as Team Manager and Head Coach.
